So we have optimized media, proxy media, render-in-place and caching (none,user,smart) and then there are mechanisms to nodes within the color page, cache color page (overall in edit page), fusion page, ofx effects, etc. If you want to render nodes, you do this by caching them as always (btw - this thread is about proxy media vs optimized media - neither of which has to do with caching nodes - it's very confusing, isn't it?). 'Render-in-place' is for rendering clips in the edit page, not for caching nodes in the color page.

If I can't render specific nodes, then that doesn't work in the way I'm using cache for nodes. To what format? Where?
